Naturally sweetened with raisins and packed with protein, these brownies make a great anytime snack.

This is my favorite black bean brownie base. It’s so easy – just blend dry ingredients, wet ingredients, mix and bake. Experiment with cocoa powder instead of carob powder, nuts of choice, and any spices or add-ins you like.

Blend & Bake

Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Blend dry ingredients in food processor to form a coarse flour. Transfer dry ingredients to mixing bowl and set aside.

Tip: Try to get your cashews ground completely. This will help your brownies hold together.

Next, blend your wet ingredients. This will form a smooth paste.

It’s okay to have a few stray beans and raisins, but the smoother your paste, the better your brownies will hold together.

Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients in mixing bowl and mix well. This will form a thick batter or dough.

Spread brownie batter into lightly oiled baking dish.

Pop your baking dish in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until brownies are firm to the touch and have developed a browned crust.

Enjoy!
